After completing my Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with Credit) at the University of Otago, I am happy to be back in Wellington to care for the community I grew up in.

I am interested in all scopes of general dentistry and am fluent in English and Tagalog. I communicate well with patients and offer minimally-invasive dental care through a holistic approach. Patients are involved at every step of treatment to ensure their needs are met and they are satisfied with results.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy going to the gym, reading and drinking coffee which Wellington has plenty of places for, all of which I need to explore.

Born and bred in Malaysia, I grew up in a multicultural background and am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Malay. I like getting patients involved in their treatment planning with clear two-way communication and engaging them to take charge of their own oral health in the long term.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Otago, Nelson was where I practiced before coming to the capital city. Outside of scrubs, I enjoy occasional walks around gardens, painting and also good food and tunes.

I am thrilled to address any of your concerns and firmly believe that all patients should feel welcomed on the dental chair. Ultimately overcoming the prejudice of dental visits being unpleasant.

I graduated from the University of Otago in 2012. I am currently registered with the NZ Dental Council, NZ Dental Association. I have since worked in the government clinic in Malaysia and most recently 3 years of private practice in the hustle and bustle city of Singapore. My wife and I decided to move back to New Zealand for the great outdoors and the great family lifestyle Aotearoa offers especially for our active 2 year old son.

Moving to Wellington has been the best decision our young family have made and we plan to settle here for the long term with its vibrant mix of culture and the best kiwi hospitality not to forget how picturesque the city is! I enjoy helping patients improve their smile, alleviating their pain and with my experience of practicing dentistry in different countries (seeing patients from countless nationalities in Singapore) have made me a much more holistic practitioner. I used to also work in rural Malaysia running community clinics serving the underprivileged communities in the villages.

Overall, I do enjoy the oral surgery aspect of dentistry. I am both fluent in English and Malay.I am an avid fan of Manchester United, enjoys playing football in the local amateur league over the weekend. On my off days, I work out at the local gym and take our son out for walks along the beautiful Wellington coastline

I took over an Upper Hutt practice which was formally owned by Dr Russ Mitchell in 1978.

Previous year, I worked as an assistant dentist in Ch-Ch. I chose Ch-Ch because of its close proximity to a number of great ski fields.

Over the past 30+ years I have owned and operated dental surgeries from Paraparaumu in the Kapiti to Greytown in the Wairarapa and the greater Wellington region .
