Hi, my name is Elian.

I hold a Bachelor of Oral Health, which I completed in 2023. Originally from the Philippines, I moved to New Zealand at the age of six.

As an Oral Health Therapist, I am passionate about helping patients achieve their best smiles. Through care and education, I aim to empower patients to build confidence and maintain lifelong oral health.

Outside of Oral Health, I enjoy reading, going on bike rides, connecting with nature and spending time with family and friends.

Hi there, I’m Joanna - your friendly neighbourhood Oral Health Therapist!

I graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Science (2018) and

Bachelor of Oral Health (2022). I am very excited and passionate to give

back to our community, through Capital Dental, with everything that I

learned both in and out of university/work.

I know how it feels like to be both a patient and the clinician so because of

that, I do prioritise helping patients feel at ease while providing dental care.

I aim for every visit to be as comfortable and positive as possible but also to

be very educational and helpful to ensure that my lovely patients can stay

healthy and smile as bright as they can.

I love having a good balance of being in solitude and being surrounded

by family and friends. So outside of work, you’ll find me playing badminton,

cooking, karaoke-ing, watching movies, going on random drives, and at

church!

Kia ora! My name is Ruby Baxter and I graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2024. I grew up on the Kāpiti Coast and am very excited to be back working in Wellington!

As an Oral Health Therapist at Capital Dental, I am passionate about helping patients achieve brighter, more confident smiles. It’s incredibly rewarding to use my skills and knowledge to improve a patients oral health, whether it's treating gingivitis or periodontitis, or providing general dentistry to adolescents. I take great pride in educating others on the importance of gum health and look forward to continuing to care for and support my patients every day.

A few things I enjoy outside of work are reading, painting, going on walks, baking and spending time with whānau and friends.

Bula Vinaka! I’m Josaia and I graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Otago in 2023. I was born in Fiji and came to New Zealand in 2011 . I have a passion for service and I am fortunate enough to work along side an incredible team that provide incredible smiles to many people.

In my role as an oral health therapist I am able to help educate others on the importance in the management of gum health. In Capital dental, I have helped treat individuals who have gingivitis or periodontitis as well as providing general dentistry to adolescent patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, trying new foods, playing volleyball and rugby.

I was born and raised here in Te Awaikairangi, with a passion to always provide back to the community as it did for me. I completed my Bachelor of Oral Health from the School of Dentistry, University of Otago, in 2011. I am currently registered as an Oral Health Therapist with the NZ Dental Council and NZ Dental and Oral Health Therapist Association. I was working previously in Dunedin as an Oral Health Therapist in a private practice as well as a Teaching Fellow at the School of Dentistry, University of Otago. Having had the opportunity to teach within the Oral Health Department, I have gained a confidence in supporting and mentoring young Oral Health Therapists at an American Dental Practice, the Expat Dental in Singapore. I have enjoyed working in such a diverse multicultural setting where I learned to appreciate and deliver culturally-appropriate treatment to many patients.

My husband Adrian who is also a team member at Capital Dental and our young family moved back to New Zealand for the great family lifestyle. Moving back to New Zealand made us to realise how beautiful this country is with a friendly mix of different culture.

I believe us dental hygienists at Capital Dental can help you with prevention and management of periodontal disease which is often neglected.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and definitely pre-occupied with our toddler boy.
